Welcome to the Brain Injury Association of Tennessee’s (BIAT) website. BIAT was founded in 1983 by a dedicated group of family members and volunteers committed to creating a better future for brain injury survivors through education and advocacy.

BIAT continues to provide education, support, awareness and advocacy to brain injury survivors and their family members, friends, caregivers and all service providers who serve them.

As a parent and caregiver, I know personally the journey of living with a brain injury. My son, John, was in a motor vehicle crash on October 31, 1995. My goal is for survivors and family members, friends and caregivers to know you are not alone in this journey. We are here to help in any way we can. Our family helpline (1.877.757.2428) is answered by either me, Lisa Howser (Nashville area Service Coordinator) or Gina Stumph (Mother/Supporter of a 17 year old daughter who sustained a brain injury on Aug. 17, 2009.)

BIAT also has the “TBI Families Share” peer mentoring program and the “Caregiver’s Support Network” program. Please call the office if you would like more information about these programs and support groups located across the state.
